ART@IGC EXHIBITION SPACE

Raandesk to manage exhibitions in Manhattan community workspace for women

[New York, NY - August 4, 2008]  Raandesk Gallery of Art, a virtually-based resource for contemporary art by emerging artists (http://www.raandeskgallery.com/) announces ART@IGC, a dedicated gallery space to showcase exhibitions of contemporary art with In Good Company, (IGC) a flexible shared workspace for entrepreneurial women located at 16 W. 23rd Street, just blocks from the Chelsea gallery district.

In the new collaboration Raandesk will provide curatorial direction and management of regular exhibitions of contemporary art in IGC's innovative 3,000 square foot community workspace.   The inaugural ART@IGC project event will be Someday, Maybe, Never, a solo exhibition of paintings by New York artist Jason Bryant, with an opening reception on Thursday, September 18 from 6-9pm.

"We're very excited at the partnership with In Good Company, which will allow Raandesk to extend our mission to make art collecting a contemporary, accessible and enjoyable experience," describes Raandesk Founder/ Owner Jessica L. Porter.  "With ART@IGC, we'll greatly expand our audiences and the exposure of the artists that we show   by showcasing emerging artists from the Raandesk Collection as well as work by fine artists who are members of the IGC entrepreneurial community." .

In Good Company Founder and president Adelaide Fives approached Porter with the idea of an extended partnership following a successful art exhibition installation at IGC this past spring.  Porter learned about IGC from an online article and saw it as the perfect workspace solution for her own growing business, not to mention a great place to showcase art, with sleek hardwood floors, high ceilings, natural light, expanses of wall space and a clean, modern aesthetic.

"We are thrilled to gain Jessica's expertise and the exposure that this partnership will garner for both IGC and for Raandesk Gallery.  Having contemporary art in our space adds to the vibrancy and dynamic atmosphere at IGC, which means a productive environment," commented Fives.

ART@IGC projects and exhibitions are free and open to the public to visit during regular business hours, Monday-Thursday, 8am-8pm, Fridays from 8am-7pm, and Sat/Sun by appointment.  Anyone interested in joining the invitation list for ART@IGC events can submit their name and email address at http://www.raandeskgallery.com/.
